I’m New

Grace and Peace to you!

Welcome to the LACAC Website. Please feel free to look around and acquaint yourself with our various ministries, worship times, events calendar, and so much more! Here are a few questions that you may have before joining us. We look forward to meeting you!

Where are you located?

We are located at 320 Cypress Avenue in Alhambra, CA 91801, on a small cul de sac just behind Costco and Target. As you head down Poplar Boulevard, please find green signage posted for our church. On Cypress Avenue, the church will be on your left about halfway down the street. Feel free to park on either of the lots surrounding the church.

What should I expect in a worship service?

On a typical Sunday, we have separate worship services conducted in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin (please refer to our Services for specific times and locations). In the English service, we worship through music, the preaching and hearing of God’s word, prayer, and scripture reading. Our style is a blend of contemporary and age-old favorite hymns, catering to a range of age groups and stages of life.

What is the church like?

At LACAC, we consider each other family. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we are a multi-generational and multi-lingual community. As a whole, we are a small, intimate group that strives to build a body that encourages, equips, and empowers disciples for Kingdom work. As a predominantly immigrant church, we look to break down our cultural differences and seek to be transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ, by God’s grace and through the work of the Holy Spirit.

What should I wear?

Our congregants range from youth in shorts to college students and young professionals in their “Sunday Best” (slacks and ties) to young families wearing jeans. If you like to “dress up” for church, go for it! If you like to go casual, go for it! Come as you are. We’re glad that you’ll be joining us!

Do I need a Bible?

We always encourage each other to seek God in His Word and to look in the Scriptures for answers. Having a Bible is a great way to encounter God and to understand His will for us as a church and as individuals, but it isn’t a must for you to have a print copy. Feel free to use your smartphones and tablets. If not, we usually have the passages projected and we would love to provide you a Bible of your own if needed.

Where can my children go?

Childcare is provided during all our services and most major gatherings. Our Junior Worship service officially begins at 11:15 a.m., and we also have activities that start at 9:30 a.m. We have various Children’s Sunday School classes and a nursery. If you have a baby or toddler and are planning to attend either the Cantonese or Mandarin services, you may also use the Cry Room behind the Main Sanctuary.

What happens after worship service?

On a typical Sunday, we also have several Sunday School classes to help us dive into the Bible and meet together. These classes are offered in Children, Youth (Jr. High and High School), College and Career groups, in all three language groups (English, Cantonese, and Mandarin).

We also invite you to our fellowship time immediately after service at about 10:45 a.m. for some light refreshments in our back patio. Please join us because we want to meet you! After Sunday School, we also provide lunch for a small donation. The English Ministry usually eats together on the First and Third Sundays of the month, so join us!
