It is “Good News!”
Great news, in fact!
In one sentence, the great news is that God died for sinners like you and me. Summed up in the “The Gospel Song,” our holy God, in love, became a perfect man in Jesus Christ to bear the blame we deserved. He took our sins and received the punishment every person deserves by dying on the cross, and by his death and resurrection, we can live as new creatures.
We’re all sinners.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
And the penalty for sin is death.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:23
But Christ died for you!
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died
for us.” Romans 5:8
So now you can be saved through faith in Christ!
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it
is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
